Choosing providers or self-directed services

Confirm authorization, acceptance, and start date

Convert a provider or worker choice into a verified, authorized service start.

Official sources checked 2026-07-25

Start here

Review DDD billing and contracting

Before you start

  • Approved NJISP, exact service, code and unit, authorization amount and dates, provider or worker acceptance, required enrollment, schedule, and billing or fiscal route.

Who to contact

Assigned Support Coordinator, provider intake or scheduling contact, and fiscal intermediary when applicable.

Step by step

  1. Confirm the service appears in the approved NJISP with the correct amount and dates.
  2. Confirm the provider or fiscal entity received what it needs to deliver and bill the service.
  3. Obtain the first-service date, schedule, responsible contact, and backup if staffing fails.

Expected next

A written acceptance and scheduled start, or a specific explanation of the remaining authorization, enrollment, staffing, or billing block.

Save this proof

NJISP authorization, acceptance, enrollment, service agreement, rate/unit confirmation, schedule, first date, and backup contact.

If this stalls or the answer is no

Ask each owner to state whether the block is authorization, enrollment, staffing, scheduling, billing, or another named dependency; escalate the unmet need through Support Coordination.
