Report suspected abuse to Idaho Adult Protective Services

Before you start

  • Adult's location, immediate safety, observable facts, dates, injuries or risks, alleged responsible person, witnesses, current services, failed safeguards, communication needs, and related service records.

Who to contact

Use the regional adult-DD office, Medicaid, independent assessment provider, plan developer, support broker, provider, appeal unit, crisis service, or protective-report route that owns this step.

Find the adult-DD regional office for your county

Step by step

  1. For immediate danger, call 911.
  2. Report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable adult through the local Area Agency on Aging route on the official APS page.
  3. Separately notify the planning owner, provider, and regional office and use quality, certification, appeal, or correction routes for failed service.

Expected next

A protective, law-enforcement, or emergency response plus a separate safety plan, service correction, review, or appeal event.

Save this proof

Report details and number if supplied, separate service concern, proof, responses, safety plan, and corrections.

If this stalls or the answer is no

Use APS, law enforcement, 911, the regional office, planning owner, provider, and appeal route according to the setting and unresolved layer.

Limits

APS reporting, emergency response, provider or certification review, appeal, and service correction are separate. A protective report does not itself correct authorization, staffing, or delivery.

Beyond Childhood’s checklists and prompts are planning aids derived from official sources. They are not official forms, legal advice, eligibility decisions, or guarantees of funding, capacity, quality, or service.
